Our Services

Therapeutic Counselling

At Kindred Solace, we understand that healing and recovery are personal, ongoing, and sometimes non-linear journeys. Mental health is a natural part of the human experience, and seeking support is a courageous step, not a sign of weakness. Our approach is holistic, trauma- and recovery-informed, and grounded in feminist and systems theories, recognising that every person’s life is shaped by their environment, relationships, and social structures.

Through therapeutic counselling, we work collaboratively with you to explore your strengths, challenges, and goals. Our sessions are designed to support connection, shared understanding, and collective healing, empowering you to develop confidence, self-advocacy, and practical strategies to enhance wellbeing. We normalise the complexities of mental health, providing a safe space to explore emotional, social, and functional areas of life without judgment or stigma.

We support individuals in areas such as:

  • Emotional and mental wellbeing

  • Neurodivergence and neuro-affirming practices

  • Pain management

  • Grief and Loss

  • Self-care and daily living skills

  • Relationships and social connection

  • Work, study, and meaningful activity

  • Identity, self-esteem, and empowerment

  • Addictive behaviours

  • Trust, hope, and resilience

Guided by you, we will collaboratively identify areas of strength and areas needing support, creating personalised, actionable treatment plans. We recognise that progress can involve small steps, reflection, and setbacks: All valid parts of the journey.

Support is currently offered via Telehealth, Walking & Talking Therapy or in outreach [nature-based locations] for flexibility and accessibility.

Walking & Talking Therapy

Walking & Talking Therapy offers a gentle, grounding alternative to the traditional therapy room. Instead of sitting indoors, we walk side-by-side outdoors at a pace that feels comfortable and safe for you. This approach combines the therapeutic benefits of movement, connection, and nature, creating space for regulation, clarity, and deeper self-reflection.

Many people find that walking softens the intensity of face-to-face conversations, making it easier to explore emotions, reduce overwhelm, and feel more at ease in their body. This modality aligns with our trauma-informed, relational, and feminist foundations - honouring the whole person and recognising that healing is both cognitive and embodied.

Sessions are thoughtfully planned with accessibility, privacy, and your autonomy at the centre. We can pause at any time, take breaks, or find a quiet spot to sit if needed.

Walking & Talking Therapy may be supportive if you feel more grounded in nature, prefer a less clinical approach, or benefit from gentle movement when exploring life’s challenges.

A simple shift in environment can open up new pathways for healing - and we walk with you, every step of the way.

~ Not ready or able to take the walk? Talk to your Clinician about other ways you can connect with nature during sessions. ~

Group Therapy; A Multi-Tooled Approach To Emotion Regulation & Distress Tolerance

Many of us experience times when our emotions feel overwhelming or hard to manage. Challenges such as ongoing stress, anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, or burnout can make it harder to respond calmly and compassionately to ourselves and others. When emotions feel too intense, we might find ourselves withdrawing, becoming reactive, or feeling disconnected - not because we are weak, but because our nervous system is doing its best to cope.

The Multi-Tooled Approach to Emotion Regulation and Distress Tolerance Group at Kindred Solace offers a safe, supportive environment to explore these experiences and develop skills for managing emotional intensity with greater awareness and ease. Through a blend of evidence-based therapeutic approaches - including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and mindfulness and somatic practices - participants learn how to regulate their nervous system, understand emotional patterns, and respond to distress in healthy, grounded ways.

This small, fortnightly group invites individuals to learn, reflect, and grow together through shared understanding and lived experience. The focus is on practical tools, gentle connection, and building resilience - supporting participants to move from emotional overwhelm toward balance, clarity, and self-compassion.

Commencement date subject to participant numbers, with a maximum of 12 participants. Please contact us for further information.

Group Therapy; Anxiety & Depression Support

At Kindred Solace, we believe healing begins with connection. This group meets fortnightly to create a supportive space for understanding, growth, and restoration. Drawing on a holistic blend of psychoeducation, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), somatic practices, and relaxation training, the group aims to nurture nervous system regulation, ease symptoms of anxiety and depression, and enhance overall wellbeing.

Commencement date subject to participant numbers, with a maximum of 12 participants. Please contact us for further information.

Neurodivergent Minds: A Therapeutic Support Group for Women with ADHD

At Kindred Solace, we believe neurodivergence is not a deficit to be fixed, but a way of being to be understood, supported, and empowered. Neurodivergent Minds is a therapeutic group space created specifically for women with ADHD who are seeking practical tools, deeper self-understanding, and meaningful connection with others who “get it.”

Grounded in a strength-based and trauma-informed lens, this group weaves together evidence-informed interventions and embodied practice. Together we will explore ADHD-friendly CBT, DBT skills, executive functioning strategies, dopamine supports, sensory modulation, and somatic movement and embodiment practices. We will also provide psychoeducation through a women’s health lens, recognising the unique hormonal, relational, and societal contexts that shape women’s experiences of ADHD.

This is not a space focused on compliance or productivity metrics. It is a space for reclaiming agency, reducing rejection sensitivity, managing overstimulation, and building sustainable systems that honour your nervous system.

Rooted in shared lived experience, collective healing, and authentic social connection, Neurodivergent Minds invites you to move from shame and self-criticism toward self-trust, clarity, and empowerment; alongside a community of women walking a similar path.

At Kindred Solace, we hold space for the whole person, not just the diagnosis.

Clinical Supervision for Social Workers

Clinical supervision at Kindred Solace is a collaborative, reflective space grounded in trauma-informed, feminist, systems-theory and social-justice principles. It supports practitioners to deepen their clinical skills while honouring the broader structural forces such as gender, power, inequality and intergenerational trauma that shape human experience and practice. Through shared reflection, accountability and connection, supervision nurtures confidence, ethical clarity and emotional sustainability, helping practitioners provide safe, empowering and culturally responsive care.

Clinical Supervision will primarily be offered via telehealth while Kindred Solaces grows roots. Face-to-Face Clinical Supervision may be arranged by mutual agreement in public locations (travel fees may apply), including Walking & Talking Clinical Supervision (in line with the principles of Walking & Talking Therapy - please see above for details).

Mentoring for the Australian Mental Health Social Worker Accreditation

Kindred Solace also offer dedicated support for Social Workers navigating the Accredited Mental Health Social Worker application process. Embodying the same principles as our Clinical Supervision, with an added focus on empowerment, clarity and grounded guidance, we walk alongside practitioners as they gather evidence, reflect on their professional identity and articulate their clinical capabilities. Our approach honours each worker’s unique journey, strengths and lived experience, ensuring they feel held, confident and resourced throughout every stage of the accreditation pathway.
